Two arrests made in saguaro killing case

TUCSON -- Police today arrested two 19 year old males for chopping down three big saguaro cacti and a mesquite tree last week in Rillito River Park.

Looks like the cops may have taken seriously this crime against nature and our quality of life.

If there is a conviction, the judge should impose a strong sentence that helps these criminals learn some respect for our desert -- such as hundreds of hours of community service doing environmental restoration work -- after jail and applicable fines. More news on this as it comes in.

Thank you for keeping us updated. It's good to see others that are able to do something about it, actualy do it. My faith in humanity is somewhat restored.
Its good they caught these chumps.

I still want to know if anyone plans on visiting them in jail and seeing if their politics played any role in their decision to desecrate these noble plants.

Volunteers??

Buehler? Buehler??
