Rep. Giffords picked for conservative Blue Dogs

WASHINGTON -- US Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona has been elected to the Blue Dog Democrats.

The conservative and moderate Blue Dogs can be helpful when they stick to fiscal responsibility issues. They can be harmful when they veer off on some social, defense and environmental issues.

Good luck, Congresswoman Giffords, as a part of the Blue Dogs. Please try to keep them more on the moderate track, not too conservative.

US Rep. Harry Mitchell (D-AZ) was also trying to join the Blue Dogs, but was not elected.

When the "Blue Dogs" were considering Ms Giffords and Mr Mitchell for membership I wrote - I don't care if you consider yourself a yellow, blue,
progressive, moderate, conservative, liberal, or whatever Democratic voter - if we don't unite as one united party getting out the people's vote and achieving the majority back in the numbers Americans need in order to stop what has been and continues to be horrific policies by this administration and equally horrific votes by its supporters in the House and Senate, we deserve what we get.
