Voter registration deadline today; Bailout; Taliban

2008 is a critical election.

TUCSON -- If you're not already registered to vote, today at midnight is the deadline to register to vote in the Nov 4 election. See the link here for direct info, or call 740.4330.

As markets are tanking worldwide today, I thank my Congressman, Raul Grijalva (D-AZ7) for staying calm and voting against the bailout, which may not work.

Also, here's an interesting and important story about Afghanistan and the Taliban you probably won't see in the US media.

This bailout is just one more example of the indivisible handjob stroking irresponsible CEOs and CFOs with billions so that they can run the American economy even further into the ground. So much for Keynesian economics. If the goal is to stimulate the economy, why not give the money directly to the American taxpayers? We could do twice as much good for the economy by giving half as much money directly to hardworking American taxpayers. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush administration.
