Open, good gov't champ Waxman visits Arizona
SuperWaxman takes on corruption.
TUCSON -- Congressman Henry Waxman (D-CA30) visited yesterday in partnership with Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ8).
As an ecologist and southwest director of Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER.org), working in the energy, environment, public health and open/good government field, I have long respected Mr. Waxman as a champion of the public interest.
Waxman talked about the need to restore openness and trust in Washington, after eight failed years of secretive, hostile operations by Bush-Cheney and the Republican administration.
I was also thankful to hear Mr. Waxman talk about the need to help struggling states as part of the upcoming economic stimulus package to be debated on Capitol Hill after the election.
