America's Mexico Wall

TUCSON -- I remember the historic days when the Berlin Wall fell in 1989. I was 18. It was great.

America and the world are celebrating the fall of the wall 20 years ago.

But in recent years the US has built an ugly, hostile and destructive wall on the Mexican border, which blocks just about every animal except homo sapiens.

Mr. Obama, tear down this wall!

A recent study shows that this wall, along 700 miles of the border will cost 49 billion dollars when it is all done, a massive increase from the original cost estimates. At this rate (and assuming no inflation) if it were extended to all 1952 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border (as some propose) the price would be over $136 billion.

Not that conservatives would care about adding $136,000,000,000.00 to the deficit very much, they are only 'fiscal conservatives' when you're talking about spending money on something they don't like.
